Dermatologic Surgery
Dermatologic surgery includes all procedures performed on the skin under local anaesthesia within the dermatology clinic. The aim is accurate diagnosis through biopsy, complete removal of malignant or suspicious lesions, and management of benign lesions that cause symptoms or aesthetic concerns.
All procedures take place in a dedicated treatment area within the clinic, with strict adherence to antisepsis and sterilization protocols. Before every procedure, you are fully informed about the process, the risks, and the expected post-operative course, and you sign an informed consent form.
Our equipment includes a CO₂ laser for minimally invasive removals, electrosurgical diathermy for haemostasis, and a full set of instruments for conventional surgical excisions with sutures, when required (e.g. to ensure clear surgical margins in malignant lesions).

FAQ
Is the procedure painful?
No. The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia and is painless. There may be mild tenderness for 1-2 days afterwards.
Will there be a scar?
Every surgical removal leaves some form of scar. With modern techniques and CO₂ laser, scars are usually discreet. We discuss the expected outcome in detail before the procedure.
How long does it take to heal?
Usually 7-21 days for initial healing, while scar maturation takes 6-12 months.
Do you send specimens for histology?
Yes, the suspicious lesions, that are removed, are sent to a specialized pathology laboratory for definitive diagnosis.
